= Internet is the world wide network of interconnected computer.
It uses the standard internet protocol(TCP/IP) .
what is intranet ?
= intranet is the networking structure in which multiple computer are connected to each other, generally for orginization purpose. The intranet within an organization is only accessible to the members of that organization.
Similarities of internet and intranet.
1. Both user internet protocol like TCP/IP and FTP
2. Both can be accessed via a web browser.
Differences of internet and intranet
1. internet is general to computer all over the world while intranet is for specific computer only.
2. Internet has a lot of vulnerabilities while intranet can be safely privatized as per the need.
3. Internet has public space while intranet is design to be a private space.
4. visitor's traffic is unlimited in internet while traffic aloowed is limited in intranet.
Protocol:-
A protocol is a standard set of rules that allow electronic devices to communicate with each other. these rules include what type of data may be transmitted , what commands are used to send and receive data, and how data transfer are confirmed.
- Each protocol id defined in different terms use with unique name.
-Message travel from sender to receiver through a medium using protocol.
-All data of protocols are stored in binary information.
- protocol language is a mixture of bits , characters integers etc.
Types of protocol
1) TCP
2) IP
3) FTP
4) SMTP
5) HTTP
6) IMAP
1) TCP :- TCP stand for transmission control protocol. it is used for communication over a network. In TCP data is broken down into smell pockets and their send to the destination However, IP is making sure pockets are transmitted to the right address.
2) IP:- IP stand for internet protocol. it also working with TCP. it is an addressing protocol. IP addresses pockets route them and show different nodes and network unless it reaches its right destination.
3) FTP:- It stand for file transfer protocol. it is a standard network protocol used for transfer of computer file between client and server on a computer network. there may be a mass of file such as text files, multimedia files etc.
4) SMTP:- It stand for simple mail transfer protocol manages the transmission and outgoing mail over the internet.
5) HTTP:- Hyper text transfer protocol is based on clients and server model. HTTP is used for making a connection between the web server. HTTP shows information in web pages.
6) IMAP:- IMAP stand for internet message Access protocol. it is the standard protocol for receiving emails in which the stored message on the mail servers can be viewed and manipulated by the end users as though they are stored locally.
Web browser
A web browser is a software application for accessing information on the world wide web. Each individuals page, image, and video is identified by distinct uniform Resources locator(URL) enabling browser to retrieve these resources these resources from a web server and display them on the user's devices.
The most popular browser are:-
Google chrome=72.4%
Mozilla firefox=9.0%
internet explorer=5.4%
safari=5%

web 1.0 web 2.0 web 3.0
.static web pages .social media . Highly mobile
.Mostly publishing .keyword search .semantic search
.No communities .Tagging .Micro Blogging
.Brochure ware
WWW
WWW stand for world wide web . it's all the resources and users on the internet that are using the hyper text transfer protocol and way of exchanging information between computer on the internet , tying into a vast collection of interactive multimedia resources.
WWW Operation
www works on clients-server approach
1) user enters the url(say, http://www.my own page.com) of the web page in the address bar of web browser.
2) then browser request the Domain Name Server for the corresponding to www my own page.com
3) After receiving IP Address , browser sends the request for web pages to the web server using HTTP protocol which specifies the way the browser and web server communicates.
4) then web server request using HTTP protocol and checks its search for the requested web pages. if found it returns it back to the web browser and close the HTTP connection.
5) Now, the web browser receiver the web page if interprets it and contents of web page in web browser window.
